The Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation®

This foundation is a prime example of how those who do it right the first time, do not need to change their positions every couple of years as new information is “discovered” regarding a healthy diet and healthy agricultural and farming practices. This 56 year old non-profit, which has always been located in Southern California, archives the exceptionally important research, discoveries and writings of many of our most important nutrition pioneers. Two of these, Weston A. Price, DDS and Francis Marion Pottenger, Jr., MD were the actual reason for the formation of the foundation, hence it’s name. It was originally founded as the Weston A. Price memorial foundation, a name that is still referred to. Due to a fairly large mistake by the U.S. patents and trademark office recently (about 8 years ago), a similar name was improperly allowed to be trademarked by a completely different unrelated organization in Washington D.C. It is this office’s responsibility to look for possible infringements, or similarities that might cause confusion, and then not issue the confusing or too similar name. NO one is perfect and they made a huge mistake. Please note that these two associations ARE NOT RELATED to one another and that the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation is the original, is more than SIX TIMES older than the newer foundation, and is the archive and official copyright holder of all of the research of the two pioneers which their name represents. They, the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation, are also the sole U.S. publisher of the extremely important books Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price, DDS (which has recently been updated to include even more of his photographs and information) as well as Pottenger’s Cats, A Study in Nutrition by Francis M. Pottenger, Jr., MD, which is being reprinted in February 2009 with a brand new cover and some additional comments to bring it into the 21st century. The Pottenger Cat video was also updated recently to explain why this research is at least as important today as when it was completed years ago.

Pat Connolly, who at the time was the executive director of the foundation, attended my class many years ago. After informing me that I was basically teaching all of their principles, she invited me to join their advisory board and later their full board. I very much enjoy being a part of this wonderful, highly ethical, foundation.
